Last Minute Father's Day Ideas

We hope you didn't forget that Father's Day is this Sunday! If you haven't bought your dad a gift, here are some last minute ideas!

Take him to see a movie. Good thing a huge summer blockbuster just came out this weekend, and it's perfect for a movie night with dad. Watch "Man of Steel" together. And if you've been living under a rock, that's the new Superman movie. We saw it. We love it. Go see it! And tell Dad that he is your biggest superhero! Cue cheesy but loving and sincere music :-)

Give him a Facebook gift. If he's on Facebook, of course. Didn't you know? You can send your FB friends gifts through Facebook.

Take him on a picnic at the park. Ah, the gift of time and togetherness. Pack food and drinks in a cooler, grab a blanket, and have lunch at a nearby park. You could also toss the old ball around. Make some memories!

Get his car washed and detailed. As long as you don't touch his "baby" car - you know, the one he shows off to everyone but never actually drives - this is a gift Dad can appreciate because it's doesn't just make the car look spiffy and new, it's also good car maintenance that Dad may not have time to do. This gift can get expensive depending on where you go, and if you want the interior cleaned also. Search online for deals and reviews!

Other vehicle-related gifts that you can give to Dad is to get his car an oil change, a brake & fluid check/replacement, new car mats, tires rotated, new tires (this one will hit your wallet hard, tires are expensive!), etc. The first thing you must know though, is what does Dad's vehicle need? If he's already gotten an oil change recently, it's a waste of money to get him a new one.

You can be safe with a gift card to a vehicle maintenance shop, but that means Dad has to go do this on his own time. A downside because car maintenance can take hours depending on the service and the wait time. So an alternative to the gift card is a homemade coupon. For example:

With homemade coupons, you foot the bill and it's your time that's used up.

There are many more things you can do for Dad, even if you're planning last minute. Just think of him, what he enjoys, and what you can do together.
