Summer Sandal Styles

I could live in flip-flops. Who am I kidding? I've been living in flip-flops. At home and usually when I've been out these past few months, I would slip on my Old Navy flip-flops. It's our right to bare toes this summer, especially if we just had a pretty pedicure. But there are more to summer shoe wear than flip-flops. Here are some some summer sandal styles for you to consider.

Sandals is just a generic term. It refers to any open work shoe, but there are many styles and designs out there. You just have to find one (or two, or three) that you like. You might consider metallic, floral, or two-tone. Heels, low-heeled, or flats.

Gladiator sandals are flat sandals with several straps across the top and a strap around the ankle. Today, it can have heels and many straps that not only go around the ankle, but up the leg. We prefer this style at the right. Pretty, but relatively simple and with less risk of crazy sunburn marks this summer.

Ankle strap sandals have exactly what that: ankle straps. It can be wide or thin, busy or simple. These sandals can be flat or heeled. They don't exactly slip on and off easily, but they're cute and can be worn dressed up or down.

Espadrille wedges are the perfect solution for those of us looking for some height in a summer shoe. The natural look of the espadrille screams summer, and the wedge makes it comfortable. Attending a summer wedding? This is a great choice, especially if the wedding is outdoors on some grass. You don't have to worry about your heels digging into the ground.

Chappals or Toe Loop Sandals are sandals with a toe strap. Sometimes they resemble flip-flops, and sometimes they only have a wide strap on top (aside from the toe strap). These are pretty summer shoes that are easily slipped on and off.

Huaraches are sling back sandals with woven leather straps that either enclose the toes or leave them in the open. Usually in browns, they now come in all types of colors and styles. They are casual sandals you can slip on and off easily, but we think you can also wear them with dressier outfits especially when you can find them in heel and wedge styles.

There are different kinds of sandals out there, in different styles. These are just some we like. Find one you like and your feet can be a step above flip-flops. But of course, nothing is wrong with flip-flops. After all, I'm in them right now!
